Group F:

Group F was almost perfect too, with Wales replacing South Korea. Aside from that Germany, Sweden and Mexico all had nationals play for Manchester City.

Nery Castillo, of Mexico, was quite understandably without a single vote. Brought to City on loan, he really didn’t have the best of times. John Gudetti also had a terrible time at Manchester City, but for other reasons. Unable to keep fit after being brought in by Sven, he was reintroduced to the side by Roberto Mancini. Not impressing, he was loaned out and eventually moved on.

With Germany, like Brazil, I could have picked a number of players, including Leroy Sane or Ilkay from this season. I did opt for Bert Trautmann though. He, along with Welshman Billy Meredith, progressed.
