Group E:

Group E is similar to Group D, meaning all four countries had players who pulled on the City shirt. Paulo Wanchope (pictured) did manage a couple of votes but, much like his country, didn’t do enough to make it out the group.

Switzerland’s representative, Gelson Fernandes, was stuck at the bottom of Group E with zero votes. Signing for Sven in 2007, the 21 year old would go on to make 59 appearances for England, scoring four goals.

It was not a surprise to see which two players progressed, with Serbia represented by Aleks Kolarov. Topping the table, as will probably be the case in Russia, was Brazil. I could have chosen a number of players for Brazil, including Elano and Robinho. I went for Fernandinho, just because of what he has won, and how vital he has been to the side. It seemed you all agreed with Fernie topping the group with ease.
