Manchester City said goodbye to the home fans as the blues continued on course to land 100 points. Of course the night was all about the Ivorian, Yaya Toure, who will be leaving the Blues at the end of the season.

After a good start, it was almost spoilt by our rear guard as Brighton pulled level. In the end, it was comfortable with Benjamin Mendy, Brahim Diaz and Nmecha all getting a late run out. After the game there was the usual celebrations of the accomplishments of the departing player.

For now though I want to focus on the player ratings for this particular game. So how did our Blues do against Brighton, in the preview of next seasons new home shirt!

Bravo – 4.

After he was teh saviour in the Carabao Cup this season, I thought we’d seen the back of last seasons Bravo. Brighton’s goal was partially down to poor judgement from the Chilean keeper. He was also lucky not to concede a second later on, but luck more than skill saved the day.

Danilo – 8.

Opened the scoring, taking his goal very well. Also had a free-kick hit the cross-bar. Played the full 90 and certainly gave Pep something to think about moving forward. The Brazilian can certainly do a job in the absence of Walker.

Kompany – 6.

Wasn’t called into action on too many occasions. Played the ball simply when he did get it and had a comfortable game for the most part.

Laporte – 6.

Proving to be quite the buy at the back. Didn’t look out-of-place and handled all the aerial balls well. Growing into the English game every time he plays.

Zinchenko – 5.

Looked really unhappy when he came off for Mendy. Does this mean he will not be part of the set up for the next campaign? At points, in this game and during the season, he has been found wanting. With Mendy now fit, and Delph doing a job, you’d have to think he might look elsewhere.

Toure – 6.

Man of the night, and was given the Captains armband. Unfortunately he didn’t get on the score sheet, although he did have chances. Played well in midfield on what must have been an emotional night.

Fernandinho – 7.

Got on the score sheet and he really didn’t have much to do at the back.

Gundogan – 7.

The German went about his job quietly and was unlucky not to have nicked a goal himself.

Bernardo – 7.

Loving the Portuguese Pixie every time I see him play. Got on the score sheet, which is always good. However his first touch, and ball control is up there with the best in the world. Certainly under loved, but a great player and legend status awaits him if he stays with us for a few seasons.

Jesus – 5.

His work rate was not really under question, but he still hasn’t got on the score sheet for a couple of games now. Will he grab a few against Southampton on Sunday?

Sane – 8.

Did his usual job down the side. Didn’t get a goal himself, but did assist.

Mendy (sub on 76) – 6.

Good to see the Frenchman getting some minutes. Cannot wait until next season.
