Yaya Yaya Toure!

The Ivorian joined us in the summer of 2010 for a fee of around £24 million. There have been ups and downs during that time, including more than his share of pouting. Birthday cake-gate and an outspoken agent aside, Yaya has been there through some of our biggest highs.

He not only scored the FA Cup Final winning goal against Stoke in 2011 (above) but also the winning goal against United in the Semi Final. Our first silverware since 1976, and first FA Cup since 1969 was secured by the Ivorian boot.

Playing over 300 times for the blues, and scoring 82 goals in the eight seasons at the Etihad, his time has come to an end. Not having the pace to attack defences and losing the legs to defend as Fernandinho does, Toure has become a bit part player this season. A final farewell tour with a few minutes here and there is all the City faithful need to show their man the respect he has earned.

If this was his last game in a blue shirt it would be fitting that it ended at Wembley, where both those goals in our early success, came, and against the team he made his Premier League debut against.

A full circle maybe complete, but would we begrudge him some more minutes at our home? I think he certainly deserves that, and the fact he will be able to add another Premier League title to his collection, means he leaves on a statistical high.
