When the team sheet was announced, I got nervous. Three at the back, with maybe Fernandinho slipping back, was always asking for trouble. Yes we had to go out and attack Liverpool, but with the trio they have up front, it left us vulnerable.

In my pre-match lineup prediction I had three at the back, with Walker and possibly Zinchenko down the wings. I didn’t have Sane and Sterling in the starting lineup, but did have a very attacking lineup. That said, early on, it looked as if Pep might have got the selection right.

In the end, two mistakes in defense cost us anything on the night and the attacking wide players offered very little. So what did we learn from the turn around defeat at the Etihad last night? Is a lack of rotation starting to creep up on the Blues and are we set to limp over the Premier League line?
