Well, Manchester City are going to have to wait another game or two before wrapping up the Premier League. It certainly was a different story at half time, with the blues flying high at 2-0. Goals from Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan had put blues fans into dreamland before an inexplicable second half see it all fall apart.

Initially my player ratings were penciled in after the first half performance. Of course the final scores changed just a little in that following 45 minutes. Raheem may get criticism for missing those shots in the first half, rightly so, but it was more than just those misses.

Ederson – 6.

Had a very quiet first half, with Manchester United not getting a single shot off. The second half was a little different, with Ederson looking shell-shocked. Two quick goals from Pogba seemed to rock him a little.

Danilo – 5.

Looked good going forward in place of Kyle Walker but seemingly fell apart in the second half.

Kompany – 6.

Scored the opening goal, and was pumped. There was seemingly a failure to galvanise the back line after that initial goal from United, and a second one quickly followed.

Otamendi – 5.

Had a great first half when he wasn’t tested. Fell apart under the pressure though and looked immobile for Pogba’s goal.

Delph – 6.

Equipped himself a little better than some of his defensive team mates. Was over run in the second half though.

Fernandinho – 6.

Yellow card was issued to the Brazilian who will now miss the next few League games. Salt into the wound.

Gundogan – 7.

Had a much better performance today than he did during the week. Got on the score sheet with a nice swivel and turn to put the blues 2-0 up.

Silva – 6.

Picked up a knock and was substituted in the second half. Dominated the first half, but the extent of his injury will be the most concerning.

Bernardo – 7.

Was hoping that Raheem would be substituted at the half for Jesus or Aguero. That would have put Bernardo back wider, but never happened. Instead, it would be Bernardo to be replaced in the 72nd minute.

Sterling – 6.

Build up play was fantastic but his finishing was woeful. Favoring his right foot for the first shot when any kind of swing with his left foot might have done the job. Again, it’s back to the old Raheem, where he is better the less thought he gives it.

Sane – 6.

Ran his socks off, but his performance tapered off in the second half.

De Bruyne (sub on 72) – 6.

Came on with a little under 20 minutes left. It was a case of trying to push balls forward though, and that was never going to work.

Jesus (sub on 72) – 6.

Ineffective going forward and only got mentioned when involved in various altercations. Easily wound up he really needs to try to keep his head in these situations.

Aguero (sub on 76) – 6.

Came on as part of a two man attack, and was clattered minutes later in the box. Deemed not a penalty, the Argentinian did get back to his feet. Again, it was not worth the risk in my opinion.
