Champions League: First leg lessons

The clichés following the 3-0 defeat of the Blues were rife. ‘It’s only half-time in the tie’ is the one being banded about on the various social media outlets. The truth is that had City scored that vital away goal the situation would have been much better heading into the second leg.

As it is, City now have to score three goals in a weeks time. However, if Liverpool get on the score-sheet, you are looking at City getting five. On tonight’s performance you’d have to say the clean sheet would be the issue.

So what lessons do we take from game? Unlike most results this season, I will warn you, there are not many positives from a City point of view.
