No Injuries Or Suspensions:

I was wondering if Pep would risk Ilkay Gundogan or, to a lesser extent, Danilo for this game. Both were one yellow card away from a suspension and I feared for Gundogan more than Danilo. Both started, and neither player got a card.

Next: City Down, Not Out

Gundogan was substituted after 66 minutes and will be available for whoever we face in the Quarter Finals. Sergio Aguero, Kevin DeBruyne, Otamendi, Walker and Ederson were all on the bench as backup, but not needed. A well deserved rest for the ever-present blues quintet.

David Silva was given the night off to complete the much needed rest of our main men this season. Gabby Jesus and John Stones, who are both trying to find form after injury, got the start and both got a full 90 minutes under their belts.

When the draw is made, on March 16th, no matter who we face no one will be suspended and, hopefully, everyone will be fit. Possibly even with the return of Benjamin Mendy and Raheem Sterling.
