Premier League Records:

Talk before, and after the game, was of Manchester City being one step closer to the title. City could wrap up the title at the earliest point in Premier League history. On top of that, they are still on course to get to the 100 mark points, and that would be another record.

Two records fell during the game though, and one of them involved Ilkay Gundogan. The German midfielder made the most attempted passes in one EPL game. Making 167 successful passes from the record attempt of 174.

Another record which fell was the total number of passes from the Blues as a team. The 902 in today’s game at the Etihad was another Premier League era record to fall. In the grand scheme of things, it’s nice to have, but the real tests are in silverware won come seasons end.
