Manchester City are now four wins away from securing the Premier League trophy this season. In the end, the 1-0 victory didn’t tell the whole story, with City dominating. Almost 1,000 passes from the home side, and 71% possession, City were certainly comfortable.
Was it a case of Manchester City being that good, or were Chelsea just poor? Honestly it was a little of both, with City certainly putting in a performance at the end of a busy seven days. Chelsea, on the other hand, had no outlet for when they did manage to get the ball.
Resorting to long balls was the Chelsea mandate today, although with no Giroud or Morata to hold the play up, it was just 90 minutes of Manchester City pressure punctuated by Chelsea clearances. But what else do we take from the game?
