2) Colin Bell – 18

King Colin is probably one of the best players Manchester City have ever had. Certainly it’s not even a debate prior to Pep Guardiola’s arrival. Now, arguments could be made for KDB especially. However, Colin has won everything at City, including a European trophy.

For the League Cup, he has won the competition twice, although he missed out on the 1976 final. Scoring his first goal in the competition in 1966 against Bolton and scored in the competition in every season (including in a Final), except one, up until his injury in 1975. He even scored in a Final, although City would lose 2-1 to Wolves that time.

In fact his injury came in the League Cup match against Manchester United on November 12th 1975. His last goal in the competition coming in the previous round, in a 2-1 win over Forest. It would be that injury which would keep him out of that Final victory against Newcastle.
