FA Cup: City travel to Wigan

Midfielders:

We will see just how seriously Pep Guardiola takes this fixture in relation to the remaining ones for the Blues. If Fernandinho starts then it signals intent to go win this at the first time of asking. If, as I expect, Yaya Toure starts in that role, then I think that will speak volumes too. Not that we cannot win with Yaya in the side but I think he no longer gives what Fernandinho does.

I think in front of Yaya you will see Kevin DeBruyne and Ilkay Gundogan. The German has been making good strides this season and will be expecially needed if Yaya starts. David Silva could start instead of KDB, but I am not sure Pep would want that. Instead I think he’ll go with the Belgian, possibly replacing him with the Spaniard if things go well.
