It is not surprising, with Pep Guardiola at the helm, that Manchester City get linked with anyone and everyone. The transfer window is about to close for January, and the only incoming so far is a player who will never play for us.

Of course we are still waiting on news of another imminent arrival in Laporte and, with 72 hours remaining left, we remain hopeful of at least another. But before the January window closes, we are already hearing news of plans for the summer.

Reports that City are now ready to test Chelsea’s resolve with regards Eden Hazard. It seemed that, if the Belgian International was to leave Chelsea, it would be to the continent. Real Madrid being the club linked heavily, but maybe City could have a say.

As far as the player goes, he has already stated only a few days ago, that he likes Manchester City’s approach. His comments came after his current side were linked with Peter Crouch, Andy Carroll and other tall, target men.

Rather than revert to a long ball side, Hazard stated that the Manchester City approach was one he prefered as a player. Pointing out that City strike pair Sergio Aguero and Gabby Jesus are smaller strikers, and yet they score goals. The approach for long balls is to have a target man, whereas smaller strikers mean you need to play, and keep the ball on the ground.

So, as far as the player goes, our style would certainly be appealing to him, and we do know Pep is an admirer. At 27 Eden still has a few years ahead of him and has been in England since 2012, so adapting to the Premier League, he is a known entity.

Twice Premier League winner he has also picked up a League Cup and Europa League title. Although both were won prior to last season when they were, for one season only, major trophies!

A few seasons ago, you wouldn’t even give City a chance of getting Eden from Chelsea. Now, Chelsea have become somewhat of a selling club with their transfers in and out being significantly different. Not only selling some of their better players, they have been guilty of selling to their rivals. Nemanja Matic, just the latest to go to a direct rival, while bringing in Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater!

I think if City want Hazard, and Hazard wanted to go I don’t think Chelsea would put up much of a fight. He would also join compatriots, Vinny K and KDB.
