Kompany Got 90!

Of course, we’ll have to wait to see if there were any after effects from the game, but it was good to see him get through his return. It boggles the mind as to how City could have been at the back last season if this guy had stayed fit.

With Laporte’s arrival imminent, the fact Kompany got back on the field means he will still be in Pep’s mind going forward. I am not sure he should play again midweek, but it was certainly good to see the Captain back.

It was also a reasonably easy and relaxed game for him to come back in. Cardiff were not too interested in attacking, with only two shots on target. One of those was the long ball which nearly caught Bravo out.
