Manchester City: Carabao reflection
We Have Few Mistakes, But They Cost Us:
So, once again, John Stones was involved in the opening goal of the game. Unfortunately, like the Burnley game, it was for the opposition. Unlike the Burnley game, however, it wasn’t a slice clearance from the England man which opened up the City defense.
On this occasion, it was a desperate lunge resulting in a penalty from being out of position after Eliaquim Managla had just given the ball away. Had Claudio Bravo just been a little taller, we may have even got away with it as the Chilean almost got to the resulting spot kick.
All game, Bristol City had just three shots on Bravo’s goal, including that penalty. That, and coming right before half-time, meant the visiting side had the momentum shift happen with little time to rectify the situation before the half.
You could see in the second half though, with an equalizer happening early on, sky blue heads hadn’t dropped. And that brings me to another point.
