Targeted in the Tottenham game KDB was lucky to escape serious injury. That game was on the 16th December and, after being rested for the Carabao Cup game against Leicester, returned to face Bournemouth.

Toward the end of the Crystal Palace game this past Sunday, Kevin was once again taken out. Removed from the field of play on a stretcher and with oxygen, I feared the worst.

Pretty soon after the conclusion of the game it came out that maybe his injury wasn’t as bad as first expected. Even so, I never thought he would start the very next game, coming barely 48 hours later.

Not only did he start, but rediscovered his form. Helped by the return of David Silva I’m sure, nevertheless, it was good to see him back.

Maybe he’d spent the first few hours in a Bacta tank (as Luke Skywalker did in Empire Strikes Back!) or maybe he was just lucky on the day. Of course, conspiracy theories are abound but personally, I am just glad he wasn’t badly hurt.
