After being defeated at Highbury in the opening Group Stage game to Inter Milan, things looked bad for the Gunners.

It wasn’t just the defeat, but it being 3-0, which stunned the Arsenal crowd. They followed that up with a draw in Moscow against Locomotiv, and defeat in the Ukraine against Dynamo Kiev.

Three wins in the final three games though, would see the Gunners secure top spot, including a 5-1 victory at the San Siro.

Straight into the round of 16 they faced, and defeated Celta Vigo 5-2 over two legs. However, they were defeated 3-2 in the Quarter Finals at the hands of London rivals Chelsea.
