Certainly not undefeated as far as the domestic cup competitions go though.

First up, the League Cup. They were almost kicked out at the third round stage, after Rotherham United took them to extra time and then penalties.

Rotherham had their keeper sent off during stoppage time for handling outside the area and his replacement, Gary Montgomery, kept out Arsenal for the final twenty minutes, taking them to the penalty shoot out.

Even then it went to extra, with both sides missing two of the initial five penalties. In the end, Arsenal went through 9-8 via the penalty kick route.

It was easier for the Gunners as the dismissed Wolves and West Brom before losing to Middlesbrough in both the Semi Final legs.

In the FA Cup it would be stoppage at the Semi Final round once more. This time Manchester United halted them at Villa Park through a single Paul Scholes goal.
