A lot has been made of the current Manchester City side being one of the best the Premier League has ever seen. Of course, with most pundits being ex Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea players the argument turns to ‘What have they won?’

Obviously this doesn’t answer the question as no matter how good we are, we cannot win a trophy before the final is played. As we are often reminded, nothing is won at Christmas! And yet it becomes the stick to beat Pep’s side with.

So I have decided to look at these various sides being mentioned, starting with the side getting most mentions, the treble winning Manchester United side. There is no doubting winning the treble was a great achievement, and certainly not been bettered since, does that make them the best side the Premier League side has ever seen. And does ‘successful’ always automatically mean ‘the best’?
