Manchester City dominated the game from around twenty minutes in until the end, securing a record 15th straight Premier League victory in the process. Initially the game got off to a slow start, and thoughts of a derby day hangover came to mind.

City, however, did eventually find their groove as they romped to a 4-0 victory over strugglers Swansea City. The win keeps City 11 points ahead of Jose Milkrinho’s United side and, with Arsenal and Liverpool dropping points, a good eighteen from fourth spot. Next up is a tough test against Spurs who, although fourth, are actually closer to the bottom three in points terms than they are to us.

Ederson – 8.

As with most of City’s games this season, he really hasn’t had much to do. Did have to change direction mid-dive in the 64th minute though. It are these saves, deep into a game when you haven’t really been active which makes the difference.

Danilo – 7.

Gave the Brazilian a slightly higher mark for his performance in this game because we saw a better performance. Probably one of the better games in a sky blue shirt is this a sign he is starting to gel? Did better both going forward and defending.

Otamendi – 8.

This guy is like a new signing, Certainly a much improved all round defensive unit than in previous seasons. Getting forward, and unlucky not to score again, the Argentinian doesn’t make me as nervous anymore.

Mangala – 6.

Following on from his substitute appearance at Old Trafford I thought Eliaquim did well here too. I had said in my comments from the derby that he looked better when his back was against the wall, last-ditch defending and repelling wave after wave. In this game I felt, that although he did nothing particularly special, he did the basics right.

Delph – 6.

Probably the weakest of the back four on this day. Not sure how the mistake for the goal at the weekend was still on his mind, but he seemed out of sorts.

Fernandinho – 7.

Put in a shift again for the blues. Ran the midfield and was deserving of a rest just before the hour mark.

DeBruyne – 8.

Great free-kick for the second goal. Add to that the Belgium International was back to his old self here with neat interplay, and just in time for the visit of Spurs!

Silva – 9.

It’s either the shaved head or the Captains armband, but something has got David Silva up another level. A brace here, and a goal at the weekend. The Spaniard has always been there for assists, but his contribution with goals of his own now shows he has taken another step.

Bernardo – 7.

Nice cross for Davids first, Bernardo is slowly getting up to speed.

Sterling – 7.

Back to his old self after a quiet derby game Running at defenders, he was a nightmare for the opposition. Securing the free-kick, converted by KDB, he didn’t get on the score-sheet himself.

Aguero -7.

Slow in the beginning and pulled numerous chances wide. Did eventually come up with his goal and will have confidence heading into the Spurs game.

Toure (sub 58) – 5.

Came on for Fernandinho but is looking the shadow of the player he once was.

Zinchenko (sub 73) – 6.

Came on for Delph and played quite well at the back. Going forward he was a tad too willing to attempt the shot from distance.

Gundogan (sub 77) – 6.

On to secure the points he did exactly what it says on the tin.
