The two Manchester clubs have met in competition 174 times. You would think that Manchester United have had the majority of success within those games. And you’d be right.

In seventy-two of those games, United were victorious. Of course, the majority of those games came in the 1980’s and 1990’s when we went into these games hoping for a draw.

Going back in the last ten league games, at Old Trafford though, City have moved the stats into their favor somewhat.

Since 10th February, 2008, Manchester City have beaten United on their ground five times from ten. That includes League play only, with City scoring twenty goals in the games, compared to United’s fifteen.

Now, before you get excited, that includes the 6-1 victory. So, with United only having one win less than us in that time, our goal advantage actually came in the one game. Speaking of the 6-1 victory, here was a poem penned about the day,  for your amusement.
