It may be Silva who gets all the monetary puns but you have to say that Sterling’s currency is rising! Lively all game long he is providing and scoring his fair share of goals for the blues.

Possibly should have had a penalty within a minute of the restart when he collided with Lössl. The second one, less than a minute later, was probably less of a penalty, but was given.

That’s not to say it wasn’t a penalty, it was. I personally think the first was a clear case of the keeper not getting the ball, and instead upending Sterling.

The run set up a penalty, which Aguero dispatched. In the final minutes it was a dedication to the run which saw the English winger get his name on the score-sheet, even if he didn’t know much about it at the time.

He is quickly becoming a player who can change a game, and a huge progression from a season or two ago. With that in mind, could he be one of the best signings we’ve had? At such a young age, and with his trajectory, you’d have a hard time arguing against it.
