After the game, Yaya Toure spoke about the after game dressing room. Inside he said that Pep had laid into the side for being lazy.

Performance wise I can see where he is coming from, but I will address that later. For now we have to acknowledge that this is only the second time Manchester City will end the Champions LEague group stage in top spot.

The last time we did that, was under Manuel Pellegrini, and we made it all the way to the Semi Finals.

The victory also represented Pep’s 50th as Manchester City boss. Achieving that in only 75 games. That gives him a 67 win percentage.

On the negative side, the performance overall wasn’t good. The build up was too slow, with balls sideways and backwards. It was a throw back to last season when Pep was forced to put square pegs into round holes.

Pep has said there is no ‘B’ team, only a squad. I would guess that Pep will look at improving some of those squad players throughout the next couple of windows.
