It is now Manchester City football thick and fast until the new year. The last of this years International breaks have been and gone, thankfully. Manchester City’s visit to the KP last season ended in defeat, 4-2. Both of our goals came in the later stages of the game and we’d really lost it in the first few minutes.

Yesterday’s game was much better, although we scored the same amount as last time! Defensively, despite being forced into a change early on, we looked quite good. Managing to keep Mahrez and Vardy reasonably quiet is not an easy task, but that’s what we did.

The team performance was, once again, very good but how did the individual do?

Ederson -7.

Looked decisive, for the most part, at the back. His distribution was as it as expected. Didn’t have much to do, but did it well, except the punch which led to Maguire hitting the post.

Walker – 7.

Again, it was his usual standard of performance. High work rate and gets down the wing. Also was focused enough to get back and clear off the line. Although offside the England defender didn’t know that at the time.

Stones – 6.

Played around 30 minutes for the side before going off injured. 6-weeks out for the blues will be a loss, who still hasn’t played that much alongside Kompany.

Kompany – 6.

Early mistake, which could have seen him dismissed. That would have been disastrous given what happened to Stones later on in the half. We’ll put that down to a bit of rust as he actually did well after, although he didn’t get called into those last-ditch tackles.

Delph – 7.

Have nothing but positives for this guy. Kept Mahrez quiet, which even some natural defenders have had trouble with.

Fernie – 6.

Did his usual business for City in the midfield. Breaking up play defensively he was a thorn in Iborra’s side for most of the game.

DeBruyne – 9.

Wonder strike would be enough to get him man of the match. His contribution all over the field, whether it be with his movement or passes, is a sight to behold.

Silva – 8.

Looks like he loves playing in this side, despite losing the captaincy with the return of Vinny. Unselfish to set up the first goal the little Spaniard looked as good as ever.

Sterling – 7.

Some good running into space. His final balls are getting better and was substituted for Bernardo late on. Arsene had made advances towards our guy this week ahead of the January window. So it looks like Raheem is doing everything he can to stay at City! And, he’s top of the league.

Sane – 8.

Positive performance from the German today. Looks good squaring defenders up and going past them, he is unstoppable.

Jesus – 6.

Scored the goal, and played well for the team without really standing out. He probably would have been scheduled for a substitution later on, had we not picked up the injury to Stones.

Mangala – 6.

For coming on early in the game, he did quite well. Looked a little off the pace from the rest of the side when it came to balls out from the back, but did his job well enough.

Bernardo – Too little time to rate.

Gundogan – Too little time to rate.
