Manchester City: Coming to America
We have less than 40 days left until the transfer window opens. Although it doesn’t seem as if talk has ever quieted reagrding the moves into the Manchester City side. What hasn’t really been up in the news, aside from a hope on Merseyside that David Silva will join the reds, is who will leave the club.
Eliaquim Mangala, of course, will be looking to get moved on. That is subject to Vincent Kompany coming back along with any incoming central defender, either from outside the club or one from the EDS.
What seems to be gathering pace though is the news that Yaya Toure may be moving to our sister club. With their season running March to October, the MLS Side might be looking at securing the Ivorians signature in January.
Manchester City might want to hold onto him until the end of the season though. Despite not being a starter, he would be a good option off the bench, and in rotation, as the fixture list congests towards the end of the season.
Toure is out of contract at the end of the season and would be a good replacement for Andrea Pirlo. Not that he would have to take the sides Designated player spot though, which could appeal to Patrick Vieira.
As the days go on, the question seems not so much of ‘if’, but ‘when’.
On a similar note to that, soon-to-be ex Manchester City player moving stateside, is Orlando FC’s reported target. Robinho, who joined us as the first signing of the Abu Dhabi take-over, has never really lived up to the hype.
Now 33, and after being all around Europe, he now finds himself in the Brazilian Serie A. Again, as with Yaya, Robinho’s contract expires at the seasons end, so a move may have to wait until then.

Certainly, after playing together at AC Milan, Kaka could very well be the persuading factor. As one Brazilian to another, he can help make up Robinho’s mind.
