Spain won 5-0 against Costa Rica, with Merlin scoring a brace. That’s the positive side of the game. On the slightly negative, he played the full 90.

Pep Guardiola will hope that maybe he will be rested for the next game against Russia on Tuesday.

We certainly need him back, not only fit, but somewhat fresh, for the trip to Leicester City at the weekend.

We will have to see exactly what is going on for Tuesday. Will Silva start, or will he be rested?
