It will be interesting to see how Gareth Southgate experiments in the upcoming two friendlies. John Stones and Kyle Walker are included in the squad, while Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling had to withdraw.
I think it would be pretty poor if Southgate played either one for the full 90 minutes in either game. Facing Germany at home this Friday and the Brazil on Tuesday, at least travel is at a minimum.
If the duo only got a half in each game, I think Pep would be glad of that. In related news, England will be wearing Poppy’s on their sleeves for the Germany game after UEFA relaxed the rules in October.
It’s a positive move by the governing body. However, England will be playing in blue for the game, and not their traditional white. The reason behind that? The kit maker has expressed concerns that it hasn’t been on display as much, and therefore their sales were down. Money dictating football at the National level, but where is the outrage.
