City Are A Class Act:
Before he came out onto the pitch for the game, Kun was a little emotional. After he came out onto the pitch I was emotional!
City had organised a guard of honor for the little Argentinian, and our new top goalscorer. I knew there would be some players from yesteryear there.
It’s always good to see Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee and Tony Book. Joining these European winning legends were other, more recent, goal scorers.
What was unexpected from me though was the representation of the previous record holder, Eric Brook.
Of course, Eric passed away in 1965, more than 23 years before Aguero was born. As Mike Summerbee handed Aguero the award, over his shoulder you can see Eric Brook’s daughter, Betty Cougill.
Betty seemed overwhelmed by the occasion, maybe because her father was no longer the record holder. More likely is that this club, much changed and unrecognisable from even a couple of decades ago, nevermind from when her Father played brought her in to hand over a gift.
You have to love City for this special touch, having the daughter of Eric Brook presenting Kun with a mosaic created by a local artist. A better picture of her emotion can be found at the Manchester City official site.
A special moment for all, players past and present.
