We knew it would come, we just didn’t know when. Sergio Aguero is now Manchester City’s highest all-time goal scorer.

Scoring is 178th for the club he now moves ahead of Eric Brook. I had said in my pre-match piece that I had a feeling Aguero would start in the Napoli game to try to get that record goal.

What a goal it was too. Fast break from Sane before being fouled. The referee waved play-on and when Aguero got to the edge of the area there was no doubting the record would fall.

Another record broken was the no English side to have won away to Napoli. Silence of the San Paolo accompanied Aguero’s record, the first English win and progression of City to the knockout stages.
