Box-To-Box 8: Manchester City Thoughts from Today’s Match
By Tim Crean
7) Striker needed.
City was missing a few key youngsters today who would have factored in for sure. Phil Foden is in India playing with his English teammates in the semi-final of the U-17 World Cup. Brahim Diaz tweaked his knee in an EDS match this weekend and was unavailable. One position they were also missing was a young, third striker. While Diaz may have been able to fill that role today he is more of a number 10. The young Turkish up-and –comer Enes Unal was sold to Villarreal in the off-season as was Kelechi Iheanacho who scored in Leicester City’s 3-1 victory over Leeds today. City has a lot of players who can step in to that role in a pinch but no long-term answer at that position is another thing City needs to address in the near future.
