Plenty of present Manchester City (and future) players were in action this week. Let’s start off with the Brazilian players.

Ederson, our beloved goalkeeper, received his first call-up to the national team back in August — he was very proud. But he made his debut, starting against Bravo in their last World Cup qualifier. Ederson was not tested much, but was able to help Brazil secure their first place spot and move on to Russia. Look to maybe see more of Ederson in the yellow Brazil kit?

Fernandinho, was a used substitute in both games (Bolivia and Chile), coming late on around the 80th minute mark. Meanwhile, our striker, Gabriel Jesus, started both games up top. While they could not put anything past Bolivia, Jesus scored twice in Chile’s 3-0 win against Chile. The man always seems to be in the right place at the right time and will be crucial for Brazil in the World Cup. Danilo received his first international call-up after more than a year away, but was an unused substitute. I wouldn’t be worried here as Brazil has some of the finest full-backs in the world. He will see time eventually.

On the other side, Bravo started both matches over the international break, letting in 4 goals. Not many were his fault, but after the Brazil match, it was announced that he may decide to retire internationally. Sad to see, but hopefully he regains his old form and confidence.

Meanwhile, Alexis has no international football to hold him back, and has only Arsenal’s season to look forward to. Miserable? I would say so. Maybe a January transfer in the midst?
