Grade: B+

Who knows how much Bernardo Silva would have cost after the Neymar transfer. Manchester City signed the Portuguese man at the beginning of the window from Monaco for £45.00m. With Arsenal bidding almost double that for Thomas Lemar, the deal seems like a bargain.

The only thing stopping this from receiving the A grade is the question of need. Silva is not an out-and-out winger. Instead, he is more of a central playmaker. With David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne already on the roster, the addition was more for a depth. His versatility is valuable, but Guardiola’s change in tactics might negate that. The manager is leaning towards the 3-5-2 recently. That would eliminate the need for wingers.

Nonetheless, it is no secret that SIlva is a fantastic player. He would have been worth any money City paid for him. The fact that we got a bargain just makes it that much sweeter.
