Former Manchester City players weigh on Sanchez and Evans
With transfer deadline drawing ever so close, time is running out. Alexis Sanchez and Johnny Evans, despite being rumored for so long, have not signed yet. What will be the fate of those two?
For Manchester City, it now looks like the long running saga of Alexis Sanchez will be completed before the deadline day window shuts. City reportedly added another 10 million to that initial 50.
Reports from Chile yesterday saw a Manchester City delegation travel, which would lead you to believe a deal could be close. This morning though it seems that Arsenal are still holding out for a cash plus player option.
Alexis Sanchez has made no secret of his desire to leave. He put fuel to the fire last night when he ‘liked’ a doctored picture of the now famous Neymar and Pique picture posted before Neymar told the world he was leaving Barcelona for PSG. The ‘Se queda’ (he stays) appeared on the site with Alexis Sanchez’s head over Neymar’s, and was liked by ‘alexis_officia1’.

Former players have also had their say on the final few hours of the transfer window for City with opinions divided.
Peter Barnes – “Don’t think Sanchez will be going unless [Manchester City] pays 60/70 million without (Raheem) Sterling going in part as well.”
Gary Owen – “Sanchez and Evans will be City players when the transfer window shuts!!!!”
Mark Seagraves – “I think Evans is a good buy as he will bring stability to the back four. His experience will be vital for younger players around him. Will bring Stones on. Not sure about Sanchez… He has shown a bad attitude often for Arsenal over the months. If he doesn’t play he may throw his toys out of the cot again. No doubting his ability but his temperament is in question.”
Steve McMahon – “City need Sanchez'”
As the hours count down though both deals are far from being done. Eliquiam Mangala is key to the Evans deal. Tony Pulis is adamant on a replacement before his Captain is allowed to leave. Evans was in Manchester today, but it was to get a flight to San Marino to play for his National side.

Palace have put in a bid for Mangala but with him wanting a move to Inter and the West Brom deal on the back burner I think if City accept that, Evans will not be a City player.
