After a less than impressive win over minnows Bournemouth with Benjamin Mendy making his first start for the club with Pep Guardiola deciding to drop Sergio Aguero from the starting line-up.

Ederson- 7

Made a smart save to deny Jermain Defoe giving Bournemouth a two goal cushion, nothing he could do for Charlie Daniels stunner.

Vincent Kompany-6

This was not the sturdy defensive performance we have come to expect from the Manchester City Captain instead it was a jittery performance that was highlighted when he was captured in possession by Jermain Defoe.

Nicolas Oatmendi-6.5

Just like his defensive partner Vincent Kompany he was caught in possession and his passing was woeful, had a header crash against the post

Danilo-6.5

Had an off day from the start with his first touch of the game short pass that didn’t make the distance and lacks the attacking thrust of Kyle Walker, ducked sensibly for Charlie Daniels rocket.

Fernandinho-7

An industrious performance by the Brazilian who worked tirelessly and was the engine room for City,  lost possession after an overhit pass by Oatamendwhichih lead to a shot by Joshua King hitting the upright.

Benjamin Mendy-7

His first appearance in a sky blue shirt made good overlapping runs and looks a definite upgrade on his fellow Frenchman Bacary Sagna, will continue to get better as he adjusts to the Premier League.

Raheem Sterling-7

Was largely ineffective against Bournemouth before scoring a deflected goal, sent off for a comical yellow card.

Bernardo Silva-7.5

The Portuguese had an excellent game in his first Manchester City start with his clever movement and great dribbling became muted in the second half.

David Silva-8

Once again he was the master orchestrator of Manchester City’s attacks with his fantastic passing and brilliant vision carving out  Bournemouth’s defense for Gabriel Jesus’s equalizer for Manchester City.

Kevin De Bruyne-6.5

Had to play deeper to accommodate the wandering Bernardo Silva which lead to him overhitting passes in the first half, became more influential in the second half as he played in a more forward role.

Gabriel Jesus-7.5

A goal for his troubles, which included being tackled recklessly by Bournemouth players, showed a glimpse of what the future holds for Manchester City with him leading the line.
