Analysis

Samir Nasri may be the human equivalence of the word enigma. The Frenchman is undoubtedly talented – any team that he played for can support that. Despite his tools, Nasri has been his own roadblock. His inconsistency and seemingly lack of commitment to football has led people to turn their back on him. Just this season, Nasri was in scintillating for to kick off his La Liga career, only dwindle into obscurity at the end. His red card against Leicester City during the Champions League Round of 16 matchup tells all the story needed. It is clear that the Frenchman is not in Pep Guardiola’s plan. The signing of Bernardo Silva essentially put the nail in the coffin for Nasri’s lackluster career at Manchester.

Despite his personal demons, his talent seems to still attract suitors. While Sevilla is not an option anymore, the likes of AC Milan, Fenerbache and Shanghai Shenhua are all in the running to obtain his signature.

Perhaps the biggest story for Nasri is his possible ban from UEFA due to his intravenous drip for hydration treatment. The treatment can possibly land him a four-year ban, making it impossible for City to sell him on.

Verdict: SELL

His talent comes with a headache – and it is really not worth it. He should and could be playing in a very talented team but his personal demons seem to be too much to overcome. His presence in the locker room will only make things worse.
