Bernardo Silva.  Silva2. Manchester City’s first signing of the summer. No, not a defender, a midfielder.

The Two Silvas will no longer be dueling against each other.

In case you don’t have access to social media or have just taken a break from reading about Manchester City, City reached an agreement to sign Bernardo Silva last Friday. He will officially become a City player when the Summer Transfer Window opens July 1st. Silva was reportedly signed for 43 million, a steep, yet appropriate price for a sensational young attacking talent. Here’s the official Manchester City announcement on Twitter:

As we all remember, that first leg of the Monaco game was an incredible one. We overcame a deficit to win that game 5-3 at the Etihad in one of the most memorable performances of the season. Monaco’s defense was pretty bad this game, but something that was fairly obvious was how strong they looked in the attack.

Leading their front line was their Portuguese magician, Bernardo Silva. There are of course some other great young talents on that squad, but Bernardo Silva stood out from the rest for me this game. One particular dribble sequence has been circulating social media… here’s the short video. Beautiful.
