Second Center Back – Joel Matip

The 25-year-old Cameroon international has been a nice signing by Liverpool heading into this season. The former Schalke man has fit in nicely to Liverpool’s back-line and either partnered with Lucas, Dejan Lovren, or Ragnar Klavan in defense. He has made 19 league appearances this season, netting one goal. He is a big defender that loves to get up in the air. He also isn’t afraid to throw his body around and win possession for the team too. I feel he has been Liverpool’s best defender this season, but has missed time due to injury.
