Left Back – Aleksandar Kolarov

So far this Champions League, Kolarov is tied with John Stones for the most appearances in the City defense so far. Even at 31, his value to the team for now is very important and he has been able to become more flexible in Pep’s plans. Out wide at LB is his best position, and I see him starting here over any of Monaco’s options. His dangerous left foot is an added bonus, plus he is a smart and experienced defender. Right now, he also gets the nod of Gael Clichy who has been in and out of the team.
