Combined Best XI: Crystal Palace vs. Manchester City
By Larry Henry
Second Striker – Christian Benteke
The 26-year-old Belgian has been Palace’s best scoring threat this season, netting 10 in all comps. He is a strong forward, that excels mainly with his head. He can rifle home a strong effort too which makes his value to the team even more important. I still feel he is underrated with the number of goals he scores, but he also will do whatever it takes for the team to succeed. His two goals helped Palace advance to the fourth round of the F.A. Cup, and he will be relied on against a top opponent in the fourth round.
Overall, both teams provide some tough choices at certain positions, but Manchester City’s edge shows with their position in the league table. Palace have struggled, but with players like Wilfried Zaha missing due to the African Cup of Nations, it makes it even tougher for them. Tomorrow’s contest won’t be easy for Manchester City, but we should see a strong line-up to go for the win away from home.
