Combined Best XI: Everton vs. Manchester City
By Larry Henry
With Sunday’s EPL contest between Everton and Manchester City approaching quickly, we at ManCitySquare decided to create a best starting XI between the two sides.
After a convincing 5-0 F.A. Cup victory a weekend ago, Manchester City are set to turn their attention back to the Barclays Premier League. Their opponent on Sunday, Everton, were eliminated from the F.A. Cup third-round last weekend after losing at home to Leicester City 2-1. The sides played out a 1-1 draw earlier this season at the Etihad, and the second clash should be a dandy between two teams in the top-half of the table. Our combined XI will be a 4-4-2 formation, chosen out of eligible players.
Goalkeeper — Claudio Bravo
Claudio and Everton’s Maarten Stekelenburg made this a tough choice, especially with the opponents keeper making two penalty kick saves in the first meeting. Claudio, however seems to have the edge based on experience and talent. He is quickly adjusting to life in the Premier League, and despite some mistakes earlier in the season, he should only get better with time.
