Manchester City: F.A. Cup Fourth Round Draw

On Monday, the draw for the fourth round of the English F.A. Cup competition took place at the home of Sutton United F.C.
Pep Guardiola‘s Manchester City got a favorable draw in they will face the winner of third-tier outfit Bolton Wanderers and Premier League side Crystal Palace F.C.

After the two played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday at Macron Stadium, a replay will take place at Selhurst Park on January 18th to decide a winner. The winner will host Manchester City in the fourth round, which is slated for the weekend of January 27th-29th.
Bolton, currently sit in third place in the EFL League One Division, while Crystal Palace have struggled in the Premiership, currently sitting in 17th. A point separates the Eagles from the relegation zone, which new manager Sam Allardyce is trying to keep them away from. Allardyce, took over on Boxing Day after Alan Pardew was sacked on December 22nd.
Manchester City have not faced Bolton since 2012, when Bolton was still a Premier League side. Their last meeting in the F.A. Cup came in 1947, which Manchester City won 1-0 in a replay after the two sides drew 3-3 four days prior.
As for Crystal Palace, Manchester City defeated the London club back in November at Selhurst 2-1 in EPL play. If the Citizens do face Palace in Round #4 it would be the first F.A. Cup meeting between the two since a 4-0 City triumph back in 1981.
Manchester City drubbed West Ham United 5-0 in the third round, thanks to goals from Yaya Toure, David Silva, Sergio Aguero, and John Stones. It was Pep Guardiola’s debut in the competition, and it couldn’t have gone any better. Most of the top-six got favorable draws for the fourth round as well.
Chelsea host Championship-side Brentford and Liverpool will host Wolverhampton Wanderers if they defeat Plymouth Argyle in a third-round replay. Tottenham Hotspur host Wycombe, Arsenal face the winner of Southampton and Norwich City away from home, while holders Manchester United host Wigan Athletic.

Manchester City will be back in league-action on Sunday as they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton. A win Sunday will keep Manchester City in the top-four and in the title race.
