Manchester City player ratings: 10 man City defeat Burnley

A slow start, followed by an early red card, halted Manchester City’s attack in the first half. However, the second half turned on the excitement.

Manchester City entered the match needing a solid victory after losing the big match against Liverpool over the weekend. Entering 2017 sitting outside the top four, they welcomed a red hot Burnely who has blasted past Sunderland 4-1 in their previous match.

A very slow start by City was made even worse when Fernandinho was sent off mid-way through the first half. Pep hit the reset button at half time bringing on two stars and the mood was lifted. Two goals by City were enough to see them secure the three points, even with a sloppy goal conceded to Burnely.
