#3 – Returning the favor to Barcelona
With Pep as the new manager, it seemed like it was always destined to be drawn with Barcelona. But while many would have expected that in the knockout rounds, the two were placed in the same group. In the first match between the two City traveled to Barcelona and were destroyed 4-0.
Much of that was due to Bravo’s poor decision that got him sent off, already down 1-0. Just two weeks later the return leg moved to the Etihad with immense pressure on City. New signing Gundogan, and Champions League star De Bruyne, tallied for three goals in an electric night for City fans.
