#4 – Champions League / PSG Demons Defeated
No one gets European glory overnight, but City’s road seemed to keep ending at the same place. Much like Arsenal always seeming to draw Bayern Munich, City kept running into Barcelona and exiting the knockout rounds early on.
In the spring of 2016, City knocked out Dynamo Kyiv in the opening round 3-1 on aggregate. They were then paired with PSG, earning a 2-2 draw on the road before a Kevin De Bruyne goal in the second leg sent them through.
While they were eventually eliminated in the semi-finals to Real Madrid, it was another step forward. Topping another Europe power with the pressure on, gave City fans further belief that a Champions League final spot was getting closer.
