First Centerback: John Stones

After that back pass you would fully expect Stones to miss out on any best combined XI the next week. However, for the rest of the match he looked solid. While Kompany is still ramping back up from injury, Stones is still City’s best centerback and should be there for years to come.

On the United side, how do you start either Bailey or Smalling after that display against Chelsea. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see either of them benched for United in their next EPL match. Bailey has had an impressive start to his first move to England, and would have had a higher consideration if the match were played a week ago.
