First Central Midfielder: Andres Iniesta

Andres Iniesta takes the first midfielder spot, again to no one’s surprise. The Spanish maestro remains one of the best passers and creators in world football. While he is beginning to age, he could certainly continue to play for many more years as he is not ultra-reliant on his speed and fitness.

While David Silva is a notable mention and a similar style of player for Manchester City, Merlin simply does not have the presence of Iniesta on the pitch and the Champions League experience as Andres.

How effective Iniesta can continue to be this season for Barcelona will be a key part of their success or failure in all competitions this season; with a fully inspired Andres Iniesta the team can perform at insurmountable levels.
