First Centerback: Gerard Pique

At the first centerback position, Pique was another shoo-in for this combined eleven. He has been a staple at Barcelona for years, and while not at the same level as Sergio Ramos and Pepe (Real Madrid defenders), he is still certainly one of the best centerbacks in Spain.

A healthy Vincent Kompany could rival Pique for this first spot on his day, but it has been a great while since Kompany has had a run of form and health that lasted very long. Both sides benefit from solid defenders, but Pique is clearly number one.
