Florian Lejeune

Signed last season and immediately loaned to feeder club Girona, Frenchman Florian Lejeune left Manchester City permanently this year without making an appearance. A £1.2m switch to Eibar made City a small profit. The same fate is likely to befall Pablo Mari. The full-back signed from Tarragona this summer, before following the well worn path to Girona on loan.

Additionally, there were loan deals for a number of academy players. Full-backs Myles Beerman and Shay Facey joined Rangers and sc Heerenveen, respectively. Promising Ashley Smith-Brown was one of many City teenagers to join NAC Breda this summer. 18 year-old Callum Bullock joined Crewe Alexandra, whilst fellow teenager Kean Bryan signed for Bury on a temporary basis.
