Martin Demichelis

It was clear last season that veteran Argentine Martin Demichelis no longer had the legs for top-level football. Torn apart by younger, quicker forwards, the 35 year-old was allowed to leave on a free transfer. A steady performer during his time at City, Demichelis joined La Liga club Espanyol.

Academy centre-back Nathaniel Oseni was also released over the summer.
