I’m sure the Serbian’s inclusion in City’s first two starting elevens of the season came as a surprise to most fans. However, his performances have been as solid as anybody’s so far this season, leading Guardiola to describe his performance against Sunderland as ‘one of the best CB performances’ he’d ever seen. And he certainly backed this up against Steaua Bucharest last night, where his attacking runs were hard to control by the Steaua defence and his strength in the tackle nullified any threat from Steaua Bucharest’s attacking options. He also won the foul for the second penalty.
